“Maybe my favorite one of all: Sentimental Value. Obviously, my sister is in Sentimental Value, and my sister and I are super close, very, very close. She was filming Sentimental Value at a time where she was also in New Zealand filming a Predator movie, and then she was… she was back and forth. She was all over the place. Keeping track of what she was doing was really difficult during this time. So I knew she was doing a movie in Norway with Joachim Trier, and didn't really know what it was about. I didn't really know anything. I knew she had an amazing experience and really loved doing it, and I was like, "Oh great, great, great." I watched the movie at a screening in LA and was so blown away by the movie, so blown away by my sister, obviously. I would have been, regardless if I loved the movie or not. I always love her. But this is the kind of movie that I like to watch. Whatever magic is captured in Sentimental Value, that's what I want to see. The scene with Renate and Inga towards the end, on the bed, when they're talking about their lives and their sisterhood and the difference between an older sister and a younger, I could get emotional talking about it right now, which I don't want to do, but seeing those feelings translated into words that Joachim and Eskil wrote and then seeing them performed by Renate and Inga was really powerful. And then seeing my sister playing this character that could have become, like, kind of the butt of a joke, in a certain way, which I don't think would have been Joachim's intention, but, I mean, it's, like, she's playing this American actress and whatever, and it could have been one-dimensional, and seeing Elle make her a real person that you're completely with and that you completely understand, it was just amazing. And then Stellan Skarsgård is just the greatest of all time to me. And I'm getting to work with him at the moment. We like to keep things in the family. Sentimental Value is really next level.”
