“Tarkovsky’s Mirror. Such an incredible film, sort of merging poetry and cinema in the most beautiful way. A masterpiece. I vacillate between that being my favorite Tarkovsky film and Stalker and Rublev, but I think The Mirror is it for me.”

“On that note, I would like to find I Knew Her Well. This film, I Knew Her Well, oh, wow, Blu-ray. Stefania Sandrelli is fantastic. I think she was only nineteen when she made this film. There also– I don’t know if it’s on here, but there’s a beautiful screen test of her that is fantastic, of her doing a scene from the film just in a blank, empty room, but so beautiful. I just love her and I love this film. I always thought this film and Black Girl would be a good double bill. See the front.”
