I peeped how this came out around the exact same time as Dr. Strangelove. And Dr. Strangelove feels like it has a little more notoriety, but I actually slightly prefer this to Dr. Strangelove. It's more grounded. It's more serious. I love that they're different movies, but this is my preference. I love this movie.”

“Saw this with a woman. It was A Man and a Woman in the theater watching this, and maybe I just saw it at the exact right moment in my life as I was falling for somebody, but it's a touching movie. I recommend you seeing this with somebody you love.”

“Six Moral Tales, Eric Rohmer. It feels like a perfect way to start, because I love seeing characters sitting around talking about love. Very little action, just conversations on camera that felt organic and genuine and unscripted, so, big inspiration.”

“Agnès Varda. I would call this a discovery pick for me. I'm taking this home to educate myself, because I've seen Le Bonheur and I would say that movie inspired the song "My Winter" on my new album. I love that movie, and I'd like to see more of what she's done, so I'm going to take this home and find out.”
