“This is an amazing film. There's a reporter that goes undercover in a mental institution and try to solve a murder. And there's a scene in it that is shocking even now where a African-American inmate stands up on top of a box and starts giving a speech, a histrionic speech. And it's about this black man is talking about Negroes and how they have to be stopped. And I asked Sam about it, he says, "Yeah, that's that's that's not, I didn't write that." He said, "That comes from Congressional Record." That's direct speech by a congressman about a black men and the blacks in our country. So that he did that kind of subversive that subversive writing and filmmaking.”
